Matthew joined Shared Intelligence as an Economic and Social Policy Consultant in August 2025, after graduating with an MSc in Public Health (Health Economics) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. At LSHTM, he specialised in economic evaluation of biomedical and public health interventions, economic analysis of health system performance, nutritional epidemiology, and the wider determinants of health. He has extensive experience in using quantitative methods to inform policy debates. In his MSc dissertation, he used econometric modelling to evaluate the impact of ultra-processed food taxation in the UK. Prior to LSHTM, he graduated from UCL with a first-class degree in Philosophy and German, including a year studying abroad at the Humboldt University in Berlin.
Outside from academia, Matthew has worked in education, as a teaching assistant in the music department of a secondary school and as a volunteer English and German teacher at a charity in Athens. He is also a keen musician, working as a freelance singer.
With Shared Intelligence, Matthew is currently working on the local Get Britain Working plans for Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire County Councils. He has also worked on a project for the King Baudouin Foundation, examining efforts to reweave society through low-threshold community building interventions.
